Meet Our Dentists

My name is Dr. Shatha Mechael, and during my 20 years of experience practicing dentistry, I learned and believed that it's important to understand and educate my patients with their current oral need. My mission is to provide the best quality dental care at an affordable price. At El Cajon Family Dental we treat our patients like family.

I am married and have three children. When I am not practicing dentistry and I am at home, I enjoy making all kinds of sweets, and watch Disney movies with my three little ones. I also, love traveling and enjoying the outside nature.

I am a proud member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and San Diego County Dental Society.

I am born and raised in Sand Diego. Graduated from UNI now cathedral in 2002. Then i went to Universidad DeLasalle Bajio, in Leon Gto. Mexico, graduating in 2010. I worked as a dentist in Tijuana while studying for my California dental boards and have been working in San Diego since then. I have more than 15 yrs experience and have taken courses in esthetics, smile design, digital dentistry, implants, full mouth rehabilitation, root canal treatment, orthodontics among others.

            I am the father of two young boys. I enjoy spending time with my family and watching F1, soccer and baseball. I am a Padres and Arsenal fan and attend games whenever I can. When not working in the dental field I enjoy cooking for friends and family.

             I am a member of American Dental Association, California Dental Association and San Diego Dental Society, and I have a Fellowship with International Dental Implant Association.

Dr. Rassam is a compassionate and dedicated dentist committed to providing exceptional dental care to patients of all ages. Her passion for dentistry goes beyond just treating dental problems- she is devoted to creating a positive and comfortable experience for every patient. Raised with strong values centered on compassion, integrity, and service to others, Dr. Rassam brings these principles into every patient interaction.

Education and continuous learning are paramount in her practice. Dr. Rassam earned her Bachelors in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and minor in Psychology from the University of California San Diego. She completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She stays current with the latest advancements in dentistry through regular participation in continuing education courses and workshops. She is proud to be an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and San Diego County Dental Society.

Dr. Rassam’s commitment to excellence and integrity has earned the trust of her patients who have experienced the positive impact of quality dental care. She goes above and beyond to understand each patient’s concerns, goals, and lifestyle, and

prioritize open communication and patient education, as well as ensure that her patients are well-informed about their dental health and treatment options.

In addition to delivering quality dental care, Dr. Rassam has special enthusiasm and dedication to community outreach aimed at promoting oral health and overall well-being. She has been part of Flying Sams for many years going on mission trips to Mexico to serve the underserved communities. She also joins Free Health medical camps annually throughout San Diego County to provide essential dental services and leave a profound impact and a lasting impression on the lives of those served.

In her free time, Dr. Rassam enjoys being outdoors, hiking, traveling, exploring new coffee shops, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
